Desiree grew up on a ranch, so she is a perfect person to take care of the animals. Last fall we bought electric clippers for about $150 (on sale).  I got the best one Wilco had -  the one the clerk said would gut through any thickness of wool.  We didn't have an occasion to use it since the weather was getting cool and wet. Very strange.First of all, the chickens are relegated to the "orchard" and although George, the mean hen, frequently gets out onto the driveway, mostly the hens stay in the orchard.  Both the sheep and the chickens and the pigs have access to the pole barn. We made a small patch in the upper corner of the garden and planted the berries.  For the past four years the garden has grown by about 5ft each year and the strawberries have expended to fill much of that space. They are about 12 weeks old and weight about 25-30lbs each.  They are still getting use to the new surroundings, but seem to like the run and fresh grass.
